Details on what is needed:Family Connect of Wisconsin, a division of Silver Birch Ranch, seeks funding for a Church Ambassador position to train churches to provide volunteer networks that care for foster families and families in crisis who may lose their children to foster care. Churches develop relationships with at-risk families by serving their physical, spiritual, and relational needs. Churches provide mentorship, parenting classes, youth programming, worship, and prayer opportunities. Our goal is to provide a healthy family for every child. Together, we can change how at-risk children are cared for in Wisconsin. Family Connect uses the CarePortal software (www.careportal.org) platform to connect social service case workers with churches willing to fulfill agency requests for children under their care. Volunteers at the church acquire the items, deliver them to the home, and begin a relationship with the family while looking for ways to serve them and invite them into their church community.
