Details on what is needed:After a successful inaugural Season 1, INSPIRE is excited to move into Season 2! INSPIRE, a Milwaukee Dance Collective, presents fusion-based professional performances and instruction that promote excellence and diversity in dance. This collective includes performers and educators from all backgrounds and will motivate, inspire, and connect dancers across the city. Motivated by the ideology that people look for themselves in art, INSPIRE creates a platform where artists, specifically brown-skinned dance artists, can continue to grow as dancers and illuminate the range of dance that exists within our communities. We are seeking $20,000.00 to offset the total cost of Season 2 programming! This amount allows us to cover the cost of the participating Artists and high-quality venue rentals while keeping the annual performance ticket cost moderately affordable for a wide community. In addition to rehearsals and the annual performance, the participating Artists, thanks to the United Performing Arts Funds Resonate Grant, also provide FREE interactive dance lessons and performances in WI schools in the Winter/Spring to invest in the next generation of creative minds and performers. A few accomplishments of our first season include: - INSPIRE Community Dance Workshop open to Adults in January 2025 ( Exposing 25 individuals of all ages to dance and movement ) - INSPIRE Community Performance at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in February 2025 ( Serving 155 ticket buyers in our inaugural season) - 6 In-School Presentations impacting nearly 300 students and school staff- ( in partnership with Danceworks, Inc and the United Performing Arts Fund's Resonate Grant) - 5 Public Media Relationships included TV, Print and Radio What are we looking forward to in Season 2? - Community Performance held at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Vogel Hall - 2 Community Dance Workshops ( Available to 16+ ) - INSPIRE Collective Photoshoot - INSPIRE Artist Interviews and Mini-Documentary - Pre and Post In School Presentations ( February 2026- May 2026 ) Every contribution is invested into the sustainability of the arts economy in Wisconsin, ranked 49th in arts funding, and provides quality arts experiences for youth and their families!
