Details on what is needed:As an independent nonprofit, Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool (FOHPP) has been providing community-building, connection and wonderful summer memories for countless individuals and families since 2011. FOHPP was created in 2006 as a direct response to the community who saw potential in the blighted, then-closed Milwaukee County Pool that sat vacant on the Hoyt grounds. With scrappy determination, FOHPP was able to leverage that potential into a resounding success; raising more than 8 million in philanthropic dollars to restore the historic structures and build a state-of-the-art pool. This success then parlayed into the addition of The Landing beer garden in 2014, a further extension of the commitment of FOHPP to its community. Since then, FOHPP has continued to operate, serving its mission of enhancing the community’s quality of life by developing, operating and maintaining a pool and gathering space, and preserving the natural beauty of the surrounding parkland. With the 15th anniversary of the TOSA Pool approaching, now is the time to build upon the successes of FOHPP and reinvest into this organization to further our mission of serving the community. Donations to FOHPP will go toward building new multigenerational and all abilities-focused programming. Through this programming, we are creating community and providing opportunities for all to engage in health-focused activities that an be tailored to every level and ability. Donations will directly support the cost of training and materials for these programs. FOHPP intends to launch this new programming in Summer, 2026.
