Details on what is needed:Muskego Feeds is an 12-year running annual event that has brought out 5,000 volunteers and has packed over 700,000 meals for hungry people. The event is simple, involving assembly lines of 10 volunteers per table, each adding and bagging an ingredient to make a hearty mix of dried soups, beans, and rice. These meals have been sent to our local community (Muskego Schools and Food Pantry), local area (Milwaukee), and around the world (disaster areas such as Ukraine and Syria, and more recently a relational connection we have formed in Peru). Muskego Feeds started at 10,000 meals per year in 2013, it has grown to 100,000 meals through corporate sponsorships, and now we seek additional support for our recent jump to 200,000 meals and 1,250 volunteers annually through the support of generous grants and foundations . The problem we are having is that volunteer interest has grown at a tremendous rate, leaving us short of funds to facilitate new volunteer involvement. We have had to cap the event at 600 volunteers, and have run out of volunteer spots four weeks early the past two years. By doubling the funding, we will be able to double the number of volunteer spots to 1,250, double the meals made for hungry people to 200,000, and double the impact!
